    Situation: Running NRT 2.1.9
Phone : Nexus 5x (H791) running 7.1.2 Soft-bricked. USB Debugging was never enabled before bricked. IT just stopped booting one day 🙁
Bootloader comes up (though only randomly after multiple attempts of pressing Power+Down Arrow). Fastboot Recovery option leads to phone going blank(off i suppose).

I tried all steps of driver installation except ‘USB Debugging enabling’. THe device (very rarely) do gets recognized with no rational. I assume in fastboot mode USB enabling not required. Also windows 10 gives error saying USB device not recognized.
DO you suggest its cable fault. I don’t have an OEM cable.

Please consider this thread closed. My two days of struggle leads to one LIFE TIME learning – ALWAYS USE GOOD QUALITY CABLES> they are lifelines of electronics.

Alll started reponding as expected the moment I switched to quality TYPE-C cable PQi in my case.

Thanks wug for all your tools and forums.
