I had used the Nexus Root Toolkit prior to root my Nexus 6P. Everything work good (under version 2.1.1). Then the MMB29P OTA update came around, so I had to return to stock, also via the toolkit (v2.1.1). I applied the OTA and everything is great. Now that 2.1.3 has come out, I reminded myself to re-root so I went through the process, adb gets me to bootloader/fastboot but once it gets to checking “ADB Recovery Connectivity” (while in TWRP), it fails to find any adb devices.

Thus I am unable to proceed from there.

    I tried the following:

    – Uninstalling / Reinstalling as described through the app tutorial. I’ve tried all methods of installation. The one caveat being that with manual installation, I am unable to complete it manually because it always auto-configures MTP and there are no devices remaining with an “exclamation” for me to configure. Subsequent testing by skipping to Step 6 just leads me back to the original issue.

    – I’ve tried different USB ports. USB2.x ports mainly but I did try a USB 3.0 for kicks. Same problem.

    – I’ve revoked previous authorizations and re-authorized before/after each driver install.

    – I’ve tried 2 different cables. Google OEM shorty USB A to USB C cable and PECHAM USB A to USB C cable (new revision, in spec with USB 3 specifications but I assume that is largely irrelevant)

Anyway, I’m not really sure where to go from here. Below is the log (note: some of the log contains me testing using the apps test button after a driver installation):

I’m seeing the same issue with NRT v2.1.4 when trying to root MMB29S on Nexus 9. It successfully flashes the new build, but then fails on not being able to find ADB recovery connectivity even though the device was in recovery with TWRP running. As a result, no way to push SuperSU. Manually flashing SuperSU also doesn’t seem to work.

I had posted about this on the other thread, but am posting here in an unresolved topic so it gets attention…

I am getting this same error. Nexus 5, Windows 8, v2.1.4. of the toolkit. Following the uninstall/reinstall of the drivers to the letter, as said above, did not work. I have build MMB29Q installed but cannot re-root.

I have struck the same problem – trying to do backups on an old Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.3.0 build JWR66Y and using Toolkit v2.1.5 on Windows-7. Tried all the drivers available but of all of the ones that appeared to work (no yellow exclamation mark in “Device Manager”) and passed the “Full Driver Test”, none would allow it to connect in recovery mode.

Sounds like version 2.1.1 of the Toolkit worked OK, so now I am looking for a copy of the older version. Anyone know where I can download an old version from?

Ended up finding version 2.1.1 at https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960683846 so now just waiting for a free evening to give the whole business another try.
